I am walking to send the message that there is HOPE. Through St. Vincent de Paul we create a circle of hope and support. We visit friends in need to connect to them spiritually and practically. Our mission is to provide assistance ,as possible ,to help friends get over the bump in the road. Many calls have come this year asking for help with housing, mental health issues, transportation , food and employment. Through St. Vincent de Paul, we can support and offer guidance towards community resources and programs to meet sustainability. It’s not always a financial lift but sometimes it is a Vincentian taking time to listen and to alleviate loneliness and fear. As I walk , I create awareness of the love that can be shown in very simple ways to our FRIENDS . PLEASE RESPOND TO MY WALK- it only takes small amounts to comfort those in need when we address the need collectively.

 

The Friends of the Poor® Walk is a national event coordinated by the Development Team at the National Council of the United States Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
