I am walking in the Saint Vincent DePaul SVDP St. Anselm Church Conference walkathon on Sept. 25th to raise money to help disadvantaged families in my town meet their financial obligations for basic needs, including rent, utilities, car repair, and food. There are far more disadvantaged families in our town than most of us realize and I have witnessed their desperation firsthand in my home visits to these friends. Every penny goes to help those people on the brink of losing their apartment, having their electricity shut off, or not having a meal on the table for their children. No donation is too small.
