Friends of the Poor Walk/Run 2019

Bethpage, NY

Big or Small, we can make a difference… Along the shore were many starfish that had been washed up by the tide and were sure to die before the tide returned. Along the shore walked a young child who began to reach down and toss the beached starfish back into the ocean. A person walking along the beach saw this and said, “there are too many starfish washed up on shore to save, Do you really think that what you are doing is going to make a difference?” That being said, the child picked up another starfish, and gently tossed it back into the ocean and said, “It makes a difference to that one.”
